Two-photon confocal laser-scanning microscope
Two-photon excitation as a single quantum event has become a powerful
tool for modern
biophysical research. Compared with conventional one-photon excitation,
it has the
advantages of: i) less photo-damage, ii) more contrast, iii) allowing
imaging in thicker sections. With this set-up we are performing Ca2+
imaging experiments,
membrane re-cycling observations and morphological studies.
